My take was that given who was in the picture for that part it fit quite well.

Yeah, they'll do that from time to time. Better order for an anime that's coming to an end vs something that's just kind of in the middle of the fairly early content considering how far the manga's gone since. If it's sort of slice of lifey like this anyway the order can get as flexible as they want it to be, I guess.
