Gag mangas tend to have a couple of routes they take.
1. The obvious. The joke changes but keeps going on forever. Forever. Forever. Forever. Forever. Forever.
2. It transitions into an actual story, inevitably ending with the two main characters achieving their hobby goal and/or getting together/achieving a relationship goal.
3. It ends up becoming a slice-of-life comedy series with romance subplots.

Guess we will just have to see which happens.
