Girigiri Out - Vol. 1 Ch. 5 - Playing Stalker After School

So, let me summarise this manga.
First, we have the egocentric girl that pees herself when she gets nervous. Yeah she's egocentric, because she clearly doesn't care how her actions are upsetting her saviour in any way. The only thing that matters to her is her reputation, her image and herself. Damn I hate her.
Second, we have the two incredibly annoying classmates, the obvious narcissistic jerk, so useless that in reality, he would probably get bullied a lot and be alone most of the time (come one, the guy actually sneezes on people on purpose... how long would it take for him to get punched in the face in real life), and the crazy hyperactive tick, a girl obsessed with the "popular girl", that doesn't really care what that person thinks, says or really does. She just wants the target of her obsession to be exactly how she wants her to be (forces her to be president, to run for the class and talks non-stop without even trying to listen)...
Third, we also have the haughty rich girl that thinks herself superior to everyone but is actually pretty shit at everything. She might get a bit more nuance, from her reactions in the last chapter, but for the moment, she's trash.
Fourth, we have the useless sportsy teacher, who is incredibly incompetent, putting all her responsibility on her students. So much so, that I'm beginning to wonder how she was able to keep her job...
And last, we have an introverted guy who helps a girl without asking anything in exchange, he isn't even expecting anything in exchange... but what he wants is to be left alone and keep his low-key status, what he gets is being forced to become the VP, getting stalked by her because he has a secret, getting a ton of attention to save her ass, and even incuring the wrath of the class when he saves her by "accidentally" throwing a bucket of water on her.
Also, he's probably incredibly rich, and had problems with "fake friends" that only wanted the benefit of his money. That would explain why he goes to school so far from home, why he doesn't want to stand out and why he freaked out about his name being something of a secret (his family is probably famous). I'm pretty sure the MC is gonna fuck up his life when she inadvertently reveals his secret to everybody.
So yeah, appart from the poor Sora, I hate everybody. I'll stick around to see what is his secret and if I was right, but probably not for more than this.

@givemersspls I don't know why you'd use this argument when I already gave an example that disproves it, unless you're going to try and argue that my friends of almost a decade aren't really my friends because I wouldn't tell them something. Nobody trusts their friends with absolutely everything and the protagonist here was hardly hiding his address, he just said it doesn't matter, which fits with his character. If you think he or even anybody else distrusts her you're probably just projecting your own insecurities.
@aFFi Are you just unfamiliar with the genre? Useless characters and apathetic, responsible main characters are the norm. There are dozens of titles like this. It's pretty much the only way to write an interesting story about a genuine loner character. Just why are you so upset about a guy that likes to help people doing so? And you're clearly the egocentric one if you think he should just let some girl with a disease or something piss herself in school rather than touching her.

I don't know anything about Japanese language, but so far the grammar seems pretty good and the cleaning and typesetting also pretty neat mmm...

Oh, I'm fairly familiar with the tropes and clichés of the genre, that doesn't mean it's OK to continue the tradition.
Also, the obnoxious side characters are usually not this much annoying. I could maybe ignore the over-enthusiastic fangirl, she's not that bad yet, but that narcissistic douche is one of the worst offender I found in recent years. Someone that is that self-obsessed can be funny, but not when his self-importance harms others (and by my definition, purposely infecting others with your disease is actually harmful).
My problem with the heroine is that the author and story are trying to depict her as gentle and kind and saintly, when she can clearly be vindictive, has a jealousy problems that she doesn't even acknowledges, and I really don't think when someone kind learns of a friend being struck by a disease, their first thought should be "How am I going to go through the day without my friend helping me?"... it should be "I hope he's alright.".
And no, I wouldn't mind helping a girl when she has difficulties, even if it's peeing herself. I wouldn't mind keeping her secret either or continuing to help her when possible... but if I asked her only one thing, that is trying to keep myself as invisible as possible, and that bitch deliberately took actions to go against my one and only simple need, she could shit herself after falling down the stairs after slipping on her own pee and I would completely ignore her. She's not a friend, she's a parasite.
For me, a good example of how the MC of this manga should be would be a bit like Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai!, a girl pretty self-centered that keeps bugging the MC, nagging at him and being, from his point of view, pretty annoying... but she does it for him too, because she thinks she's helping a loner being more sociable. She can be selfish, but ultimately, she wants him to be happier (even though he doesn't really want it).
The MC of this manga hasn't had a thought like that since the beginning, she's only thinking she wants him around because he's useful to her.

@givemersspls You used the fact that she can't know his address as evidence for them not being friends. If that's a bar for friendship, so is my example, and you are commenting on my friends (not that I take offense to it, just for the sake of the argument). We don't know whether he doesn't trust her, so far it seems like he doesn't care for people to know where he lives because he isn't social. She can get closer to him regardless of whether she knows his address (if that's even "harmful") and isn't likely to act on finding it if she's hiding the fact that she's looking for it.

Nobody is going to see this and think "I'm going to be useless like these characters," so I don't see what's wrong with them. The douche specifically is hardly even a character. He's a punchline and a minor plot catalyst. Nobody is supposed to relate or sympathize with him. The girl is slightly jealous, but I don't see how she's vindictive. She's also clearly apologetic about her disease at times. When does she deliberately out the protagonist? The VP thing was because he voted for her, which is completely justifiable as voting for her will ruin her one goal as well and him being VP will help prevent that. If she only wanted him around because he's useful she wouldn't get jealous. I don't know how Uzaki is a better example. She is very deliberately annoying, and she clearly does that for her own enjoyment. Even if she may want the protagonist to be happy, I would much rather have the girl here bothering me than deal with Uzaki's insistent pestering, especially since Uzaki is actually in control of herself.

I think it's a pretty big deal for a teenager to pee herself in public - of course she's going to be super self-conscious. She's no saint, that's for sure, but at least she's no Mary Sue.
And as for her seeming to be an overachiever - it's more like she's just a person who can't refuse. Those types tend to be studious. Her athleticism however, could be attributed to that, but it could also be her having to run to the toilet all the time.
Her not acknowledging her jealousy is just her being an oblivious teenager. For the longest time, she thinks her anxiety+incontinence is due to a curse, and that Universe cures it, but she actually just likes him enough that she would feel relaxed around him.

That's just you. It's not easy to be as patient and benevolent as Universe. It was shown that he's kind and unusually attentive to other girls.

I was annoyed by her in the beginning too, but she's grown on me. Like, "she's annoying but she's cute so I forgive her" kind of thing. I guess what really changed my opinion of her was that she was actually friendly to Universe. She's genuinely friendly and interested in her classmates and she isn't just looking out to climb the high school social hierarchy by befriending the most popular person in class. She's like, the Najimi of the class (who can also be annoying sometimes).

I think it's a pretty big deal for a teenager to pee herself in public - of course she's going to be super self-conscious. She's no saint, that's for sure, but at least she's no Mary Sue.
