After finishing the last or most recent chapter, instead of going to title page, go to comments of that chapter. It would be nice to see this as an option in settings or something.

@acs87

If you use the feature from this thread: https://mangadex.org/thread/22313/1

You won't get kicked back to title after you finish the last page of a chapter. The comments button is still there to click, or you can just start reading something else from your follows directly.

Having it go straight to comments would break this feature as it works now.

Rather than "breaking" that feature, wouldn't it be a third option? Back to title, recommendations, comments?

+1. Perhaps as the default option as well.

If enabled by default, I wonder what it would do to the chapter threads? Would we get more discussions or more memes?
Would these people who never read comments learn more about the community?

On a more pessimistic outlook,
Would this just spark more troll comments?
More people who don't know the rules commenting?
Perhaps some people intentionally avoid comment threads in fear of spoilers (or overly good predictions). I don't think MD has this problem, but with an influx of new commenters, it might

Perhaps enabled by default for logged-in users, and disabled for guests? That way we don't accidentally spark people to join MD just to make a comment or reply to a person.
Eg. Someone reads "I wonder what will happen next" and are like "Oh, I know! I read the novel! Let me sign up real quick and make a comment. Rules... don't need to read those, I just want to say something."
I would say the risk of one time commenter influx is probably high enough to worry about it (I know everyone in my extended family to do this, including me). If you test the waters keep this risk in mind

@ixlone

Yes, I can definitely do that. But only on Desktop. I mostly read on mobile and I have all of that clutter hidden, so I usually don't know whether I'm at the last page or not.

Edit: Nevermind. I see what you mean. This works.

Once the recommendations stuff has been worked on and includes more than just unread follows, my plan is to make it the permanent destination after the final chapter. It's the best for everyone to keep the user inside the same reader page for as long as possible.
