@TehSDragon But isn't it ironic? Why do they care about face in Murder World (I'll use it just this once, if I like then I'll stick with it too)? Isn't it all about strength, might and power? Why is reputation a thing when you can just crush anyone who speaks badly of you? This is why most wuxia are nonsense trash, bad character writing, bad world development.
@StarGasm You're not wrong about bad character writing and world dev, but part of reputation is reputation of power
Unlike the MCs, a lot of them are strength in either numbers, or strength of their leadership core (who won't have time to 1v10 all the rabble that wants a piece) - reputation gives them more control
@TehSDragon Ah, you're right, though, if they claim to be humiliated, hence, losing face, instead of taking immediate actions, the most troublesome move is taken instead. If trash makes you lose face, why are you wasting time? Just off with their heads in that moment, and if you can't do it, you just proved you are that much weak. I dislike the fact that in those Murder Worlds, weakling hide behind strong influences, like in the case MC kills somebody and that somebody was somehow connected to the Lin clan's elders, which are the only ones capable of taking MC's life, my point is... Arrogant young masters are a pain the ass, and they lack common sense.
@StarGasm Again, you're not wrong - but usually these young masters are actually pretty good (either by birth/circumstance/pills), just not compared to MC lol
No one is as OP as MC (esp. at his age) in any of these wuxias, but against the average martial artist they tend to be a cut above, hence the arrogance
Makes them pretty one-note characters, but we ain't reading wuxias for literature, are we? xd
