@Snowolf I agree with you on the matter itself, I dislike his hypocritical exuses though... as in "you use your strenght to make people suffer for no reason? here watch me doing the same 2 chapters later..." it's not as annoying as in the novel but since I have read it quite far ahead I have a hard time seperating the two and still get annoyed

You're correct, they do look like the same person. I even made a comparison to situation when it first came up.

However, you are also not correct. The previous elder was slain by one of the Hidden Masters of the former sect. His throat was slit open. It caused his, the elder's, father to backstab the sect's leader, literally and figuratively, during a critical moment.
