Noda-sensei, I love your artwork but um - Slavic noses don't quite age like that. From personal experience, I can tell you, you have a large nose when you are young and you'll have a large nose when your old. But the rest of the body shape change is pretty typical for people of that background. I'm not contesting the fact she was an attractive young lady, but her nose would have been bigger in the flashback to match her current large nose.
 
i don't trust ogata's hinna one bit, and it seems like shiraishi & kiroranke don't either
 
The Samovar anecdote is from Chekov's travel account of his visits to Sakhalin/Karafut from the 1890s. Its little stuff like that, that shows the mangaka's done a lot of reading/research in the area.
