... I know it is a Japanese cultural thing... but I don't think I'll ever get used to their communal, gender-segregated bathing.

Fuck knows I used to have enough trouble with the idea of communal changing rooms for sports, let alone swimming pools. The idea of just all hanging around in a communal sausage-fest always leaves me the impression that they're about to have a big gay orgy.
I mean either you're totally okay with nudity or you're not... yet apparently to them it is a big deal to be around members of the opposite layout naked, but totally fine and normal to hang out in communal sausage-land... and that strongly suggests certain things.
