Golden Kamuy - Vol. 26 Ch. 256 - Tokushirou's Number One

@ehscans Thanks for the translation! This may or may not be worth adding to the glossary, but I think when Ogata says that Usami's death has completed him as a sniper, that he's referring to chapter 243, which ends with him saying "You can only call someone a sniper when they shoot people." Usami was his first kill as a one-eyed sniper.

does anyone know why there are panels emphasizing sugimoto, while ogata targets usami? is it supposed to mean something? -

@cgr someone mentioned this earlier, but it's meant to show Ogata's snipe.
On the panels with Sugimoto, there's a window behind him and it slowly focuses on it. Ogata is shooting from that window.
In other words, Ogata's bullet went window, past Sugimoto, window 2, Usami

Usami mentioned having to tell Tsurumi something. What was it?

@Isle_Cartographer Correct. Using the trajectory that usami was taking on the horse and the angle of the window Ogata calculated where usami would be right before he shoot him. And his calculations were spot on

I never really liked Usami he might be my least favorite reoccurring character in this series and to an extent I hoped he would die this arc. Now that he's actually dead I already miss him. I've seen it theorized multiple times that the guy with the face tattoos has or plans on ruining his tattoos so no one could get the gold. I wouldn't be surprised if that to actually happens as some form of last minute road bump given that (counting the man with face tattoos) there are only 2 skins left. From what I remember from the chapter with Hijikata showing Asirpa the tattoos he's collected Asirpa could probably find the location with one or two missing the bigger problem most likely being the trick Tsurumi did by mixing fake and real tattoos together in the bunch Hijikata stole.

Ogata's eye popping out reminds me of something but I can't put a finger on what..
