@manganights About the doctor eating people to become a young woman? My interpretation is that it's all in his head, and he's just using makeup etc to have the effect. If you're talking about the hotel full of traps and secret passages though, that's based on a real hotel built by an actual serial killer, H. H. Holmes.

Ienaga is a trans woman. The whole bit of her bringing up Chinese food and how Chinese believe that if you’re unwell and eat the same body part, you’ll get better is her reasoning behind killing. She believes she’s in the wrong body and therefore uses the same ideology to ‘better’ herself.
 
@mootmar Sure, but I was referring to Ienaga physically becoming a woman by eating body parts. I fully understand the belief and reasoning behind it, but that doesn't mean it's actually working. I think Ienaga is just tricking him/herself using makeup etc into thinking that eating people is working.
 
@mootmar I'm not sure if Ienaga is a trans woman, they are seeking a perfect body and use whichever body they see fit. They've regained youth, but Ushiyama has strength like no other and will likely be the body they take next if allowed to. They're really just after youth and power, not gender identity. They were able to take a women's voice and face, but I think that's to trap more people and gain their bodies.
