That epic plot! So cool, must replicate in every media in every show ever, the epicness of "guy swings sword, SWOOOSH, some guy watching says it's cool or strong", this event everywhere, even when it's not a sword focused world.
They have guns! Why are they looking at a retard with a sword going "so cool"! Now I get that they have "super powers" and shit, and I'm okay with them swinging swords, but do they have to do the stupid "sword is so cool" thing every time? It's just a big knife, get a grip damnit, you have fucking future guns!
Speaking of swords, in basically all of these fantasy storys against monsters, a club would be more effective, basically all of them, only reason swords somehow work is because the 2 patterns of monsters shown. 1, they have hp bars so wep type doesn't matter at all. or 2, they are so OP strong that they can just cut through anything so who cares if it makes sense.
I actually like swords, but why do they have to make this nonsense shit all the time, swords do not have to be around just because "they are cool", they can be functional too!
