If anyone is curious the round is designed like a capped armor piercing shell.

The softer outer metal goes through plastic deformation and basically squishes onto an angled surface, redirecting the harder core to a more perpendicular impact with the target.

This reduces chance for ricochet and improves armor penetration.

During WW2 these rounds were called APC aka Armor Piercing, Capped.

But given the shape is streamlined to facilitate ballistics, its closer to an Armor Piercing Capped Ballistic Cap aka APCBC.
