Is that guy an airhead or something? Every mage knows you never interrupt someone spell casting as best case they just lose the MP and have to start over with worst case the magic blowing up in their face or triggering severe feedback. Grabbing the MC's shoulder and telling him to focus will make him lose focus. Likely going to result in something really humorous appearing, dangerous, or both.

@ApolloX1209 Granted it's really tempting but you'd have to know what the panties look like and a rough idea where they are for the spell to work. I wonder if that guy has a relationship with that female mage considering he not only knew what the panties she was wearing looked like under all those robes, but got off with only one blow rather than a beat down or designated target of multiple magics.
