I thought this was completed (RAWs I mean).... its not?

what's the latest chap out then? just curious...
 
@no168_92 Raws has all 10 volumes that have been released so far, in which there are about 70 chapters. That is, given the issues of the magazines published since then, at the moment the manga has reached somewhere between 74-75 chapters.
 
The Japanese sense of age generally confuses me. Prez is an "old man" at around 37 but Yajima is a "young man" around 30. I've seen this in more than one manga by now, where dudes in their 30s are portrayed as though they're men in their 50s. It seems like there's an expectation maybe that by the time you're nearing 40, your body is just breaking down?
 
@anoman You are talking about a culture where an unmarried woman over 25 is considered an unlucky old maid or even forced to abandon marriage, because a working wife is considered very shameful for a man’s reputation. Even though Rui-sensei periodically trolls the patriarchal nature of Japanese culture, as you have noticed, even Hagure Idol itself suffers from this.
 
Pretty cure started in 2004, I'm pretty sure this chapter would have come out in 2017 so unless the volume it was collected in somehow came out in 2019 I think the author is remembering wrong about the time he was such an absolute anime nerd that Japanese jocks decided to bully him even though he was a university student.
 
@anoman Rui doesn’t remember even his own manga (which, incidentally, is even can be found among geniuses like Araki), what do you want from later times, lol?
 
As far as I've read the raws go up to 70. Does anyone know if there are anymore chapters and where I can read them?
 
@cujojo they’ve started to release single chapters online but unfortunately they do so irregularly (last time they uploaded the contents of V10 just a day before the official release) however I found a website where I can import Goraku magazine and will be posting my poor quality scans on the discord. I’m missing 71-74 though, 75 is on its way
 
@superoniichan its still baki with yuri, although there was an interlude where Misora fights a Komodo Dragon topless but I missed out on that chapter :(. The chapter I'll be getting is a Misora fight which will hopefully have the usual wardrobe malfunctions. Seems liken the fights right now are each 2 chapters long, though I suspect the finale will be longer
 
@justjorge So, these chapters didn't even get a standard WTF moment like that NTR scene in last volume? I’m already used to the fact that in the current arc, Rui periodically did something weird, as if trying to say "hey dudes, have you forgotten that I'm crazy?". However, we must give him credit, in the 10th volume there was only one problematic scene with Akira and our psycho lesbian was not even to blame for this, lol.
 
@superoniichan well Misora fighting a Komodo Dragon topless sounds pretty wack and I don't know how it ends either, just have that one pic I posted in the discord. I'd be shocked if her semi-finals fight didn't result in some form of exposure for her given her track record.
 
@justjorge I've already heard about this chapter before, both thanks to you and the Rui's Twitter, so that would have surprised me or shocked less than another fanservice-ish "not real" lesbian rape or any toxic messages. However, typing these words now, I suddenly realized that I was starting to get used to it and if it had not reached a certain limit, I could even limit myself to a short "meh", lol.
But yeah, I absolutely agree that both of her future battles will have nude shots and lewdness in one way or another. If this really will be the beginning of the end of the series, and not just the local "shonen" tournament arc, then I think we will get even more than just that.
I also have vague suspicions that Rui could go further with his Baki inspiration and turn the manga into full yuri MMA, but then he will either have to finally bury the original premise or make a sequel title.
 
@cujojo it will start next Wednesday, or at least that’s what my “guaranteed delivery date is”. So Hagure Wednesday will be extra special. Hoping it’s an eventful issue haha

@justjorge @Odoritomaki Rui-sensei is officially announced as the author of the restart of one of the old all-female manga, a new anime has also been announced. Does this mean that Hagure is really nearing completion? Yes, hired work is a large part of his career, but that means he will already have 3 active series.
 
@superoniichan no idea, I would hope not, especially after you suggested this could be like Jojo and just randomly change genres. I'm holding out hope he finds a way to milk this :)
 
@justjorge Well, personally, I rather expected them to announce Hagure's anime instead. But, unfortunately or fortunately, Rui-sensei is still too unique a writer to receive adaptations of his works, lol. But yeah, given how abruptly it jumped from near-hentai to MMA sport title, I won’t be surprised if in the end it will even more resemble the experience of Baki.

One way or another, we had the first chance to see his drawing style in anime. For example, one of the girls is very similar to the deflated Misora, lol.
