Kumi doesn't want Ippo to go in the ring because she doesn't want him being hurt.
And Look how Ippo had been fighting in his entire career. He mostly came back with injury. The way he fought was like a tanker.

It's not that weird that she doesn't want him to go back and have that kind of matches again. She might even lose him from boxing.

If Ippo could prove he could do better at boxing and don't do face tank all the time, she should allow him to go back.

You completely miss the point. It's not down to Kumi to "allow" Ippo to do anything, even if they were married. Ippo is an adult that can and should make his own decisions free of her attempts to control and manipulate. And, they're not married, not even dating.

If Kumi can't love Ippo for the man he is, with the passions and values he has, free of her manipulation and control tactics, and/or she can't trust him to make his own best decisions as an adult, then she should move the fuck on.

Let someone else love him as a man, and stop trying to be his mom.
