Hananoi-kun to Koi no Yamai - Vol. 4 Ch. 14 - First Boss

Ugh so sweet - I really hope that we find out why hananoi is so possessive/obsessive tho

man this chapter totally seals it, i do NOT like hananoi. fucking chill out dude, you’re isolating your gf and it’s not healthy for anyone. you might not want to be close to anyone else but that doesn’t mean you have the right to force it on other people. so fucking creepy nobody would think he’s being cute and romantic if he wasn’t a hottie

I love Hananoi and their relationship. I do think he can be a bit clingy, but it’s because he was abandoned (essentially) by his parents. I think he’s growing and changing, as kids do, and I think in time he’ll be more able to relax and be less possessive.

I still can't understand why Hotaru is attracted to a person with so few human emotions.

Will we get side chapters showing him sharpening his axe and preparing embalming fluid?

Hananoi: *is rude to Yao*
Also Hananoi to Hotaru: “I don’t think Yao likes me.”

This manipulative BITCH!

I think Hananoi feel like nobody like him so why bother like them back in the first place (like we see what he doing with Yao).
Maybe we'll see what really happen/ what the cause of it in the future.
But now he start open up his heart to other people. That's good progression.

What a great chapter, I would love to see these two progress more as characters.
But really can’t wait or the next chapter, really love these two characters and series.

@Axkmint No, I thought that was it, but looking at the names, they were talking about the manager guy with the wisp of beard on his chin, and it was because manager guy came down on him a bit about no fraternizing on duty, even though he'd shown no sign of doing so. So no manipulation happened.

As to the rudeness to Yao, he was certainly totally rude. But there's a side of me saying "For once a protagonist in a shoujo romance notices the rival and serves them some fucking notice before things get out of hand". I mean, how many thousands of times have we seen it? Guy shows up, starts spending time with female lead, claims he's not interested in her romantically but sticks to her more and more, then decides he does want her and makes aggressive attempts to take her away from her current boyfriend aka male lead, often including pulling her into close hugs, stealing a kiss and so on. And nobody ever tells him to back the hell off. And then they forgive him afterwards because shoujo female leads are supernaturally sweet and forgiving and everyone else has to go along with them. So even if he's pushing it a bit hard, it's kind of refreshing to see the male lead telling that guy if he makes any moves there's gonna be trouble.

@Axkmint
You really should read more slowly or something because Hananoi is talking about the boss (Kuroe), not Hotaru's old classmate. The boss told Hananoi not to let his relationship get in the way while on the job. And that's why Hananoi thought he didn't like him.

@Purplelibraryguy
Lol, same.
I actually bought volume 4 and it looks like Hananoi also attended the same elementary school as Hotaru and saw her crying that day when her hair got cut. Seeing that and hearing Hotaru explain her trauma back then to him, I'm wondering if he's associating Yao with what happened to her in the past. And that's why he's trying to define a line between Yao and Hotaru so she doesn't get hurt again.
