Ayano rushed to use that shot and near the end almost paid the price when it was almost returned successfully, which would have no doubt damaged her psychologically. But with this win now, she's into the finals.

Must be frustrating, right at the end when she finally got the timing right .....is over, the next shot would've been a perfect return but is over, I'm happy for Ayano but at the same time I feel compassion for Yuika because she realized too late that there was more she could've done, like the smash for example.
Welp, now I hope Ayano gets a good talking about her family and stuff before the final match, seriously, if she's going to the final match with thoughts like "my mom gonna die" or "who do you like more" or "I have to be a genious no matter what" it won't be very enjoyable, I want a final match where both competitors are at their peak performance, is that too much? XP

Just see the chapter on the front page and decide to pay a visit because why not. Not only i learn it will be the end next chapter but of all people, it's Yuika who is the final character who face Ayano. Can someone explain to me how did we get here ? I think i stop after Ayano say goodbye with the team and go with the old man to get stronger. Why did she comeback in the team if she said she want to be stronger ? Why her last opponent is not Connie ? What happen to her wanting to beat her mom to prove her a point (which was the reason why i leave because Ayano's mom is a shitty character) ? As i repeat myself, why Yuika of all peoples ? Didn't she was weaker than Connie when we first meet her ?

@Lilliwyt this isn't the final match, in fact, Connie is having her own match like few meters away and the result of that will decide who will play with Ayano next... So yeah, the manga ends next month but the translation has not caught with the raws yet! there's like 8 or 9 chapters left to translate

@Serenata So it's not a team tournament but a solo one ? Btw does the manga had make any sense since the whole bullcrap where it was when i left back in chapter 45 ? Did anyone beside Connie have really stand up in Ayano's way ? Did Nagisa still play ? And why Ayano and Yuika look like so much , it's confusing as hell. I past most of the chapter asking who is who . Also what you're saying with "my mom gonna die" ? Did she's ill ? Also i see they're again on the whole Ayano is a genius bullshit. Second reason i quit because Ayano feel like she is a generic Isekai MC with OP powers and beat everyone with or without effort. Seriously, when i quit, the two defeats Ayano had one when the pink hair bitch give her a cold and when they, for some reasons still unknow to me, do the matchwith both girls having high fever and the second defeat was the only legit one with Nagisa defeating fair and square.

@Lilliwyt yeah, it would be hard to explain all the details but what you need to know is that even if Ayano changed her trainer, they had a deal that she would still represent her school at least until this tournament is over, she could transfer somewhere else after that, but who knows what she's gonna do.
Oh I don't want to talk about Nagisa's game ever again hahahaha, I want to forget they happened in this tournament XP
And yeah no one likes the mother but at least people keep telling her on her face that she sucks.

Why ? I think it was the only match i liked because it's show that Ayano was actually beatable but she has bulldoze all of her matchs so far, with one of the most bullshits asspull being Ayano beating the rank 1 female player, even she was not playing at full force it was stupid. The fact that Ayano win all her matchs make it not really fun to read. What the point of reading when you know she just gonna win by plot armor.
Why ? I think it was the only match i liked because it's show that Ayano was actually beatable but she has bulldoze all of her matchs so far, with one of the most bullshits asspull being Ayano beating the rank 1 female player, even she was not playing at full force it was stupid. It still make sense, there's lots of chapter because mostly it's filled with this tournaments arc.
Nagisa played against Connie but she forced to withdraw from the match due her leg condition.
There's a hint that she'll make an appearance in world championship .
There's some artstyle changes from volume 4 onwards. Unless you followed up the story from there , you may see some Charater looks really similar. I kinda miss the first 3 volume art though and the fluff.
No one know about Ayano mom's status yet.
It might be just that her body cannot play badminton anymore due her age or just overtime strain, not cancers/illness.
Ayano is a genius because she was trained by her mother in childhood and carried the seed of Ayano mom's talent.
I don't know why you see Ayano as someone who can beat anyone without effort while she was badly get rekt against Nagisa and have to train from scratch.
Don't watch the anime, they butchered some Charater backgrounds to the point Ayano mom's is all at fault.
And the Reason why Ayano mom's left (Mom of the year everyone) were because she thought it would be better if she discover the joy of badminton by playing with someone around her age and not bound by herself anymore.
She Ironically trying to raise or adopt another child such as Connie for God whatever reason she has and never returned house for whole 2 years. (Anime makes it like she ditched Ayano for more than 3-5 years)

@Xaelath The anime couldn't decide why the mom left...honestly I am not sure the mangaka figured it out either.
At one point it made it look as if she was just trying to get her to make friends. At another point it made it seem like she was just trying to make her better at badminton.
The anime screwed up the story, but the manga isn't doing a good job with the mom story either.

And she herself unfortunately a Tsundere which makes it harder to work out.

I guess they're both geniuses then? Whatever. After two nonsense chapters, we get a finale that comes close to the quality of the first two chapters of this match. But after all the "blonde final boss" bullshit I've had to sit through since the preliminaries this game should have lasted longer and the entire match should have taken much longer than just five chapters.
I'll see if we get some after talk in the next chapter, but I'm not planning to stick around for another round of "emotional and frustrated dark-haired girl gets humiliated by confident blonde girl who wins easily and with a constant smile".
I bet it won't take invincible blonde final boss Connie two panels to work out how that so-called Hull-down crossfire works and copy the technique.
