I loved this at the beginning, but gradually I went off it and have now dropped it. It's an understandable problem . . . basically, as soon as the MC decides that the way out of her predicament is to try to rehabilitate the bastard so she won't wish him dead any more, she has to spend time with him, and you have to develop his character and give him enough nuance somehow that it might be plausible you wouldn't want him dead. The problem with that is, it's NOT FUNNY. I LOVED watching that creep buy it again and again. Dealing with him as a human being is no fun.
Meanwhile, her romance has no oomph because the guy involved has no impact as a character. He doesn't know about the loop and the MC is manipulating him with it, so he doesn't feel quite real, and he doesn't have enough individuality to overcome that handicap. He's an outsider, a side character with no real impact on the plot. In "Groundhog Day", Bill Murray broke the loop by getting the girl, and he got the girl by becoming a worthwhile enough person to be worthy of her love--so even if she wasn't aware of what was going on, she was IMPORTANT. This guy feels like just an obligatory love interest; he's not just unaware of, but irrelevant to what's going on. So it's hard to care if she gets with him or not. Heck, he's so marginal that I've seen lots of people start rooting for her to get with horrible obnoxious boss, which is a revolting idea but understandable just because obnoxious boss gets so much more screen time and is a far more dynamic character.
So yeah. The romance is flat as Saskatchewan and the funny was draining out, so I quit. It's such a pity because at first it was so damn awesome and hilarious.

Came across this series a year ago and really loved the series. I hoped the chief changed and got with the main girl.

No spoilers, but the ending sucked big time. It felt like NTR and I wish I had of known before I got to the end, just a heads up if anyone is planning on reading this until the end.
Also there is no romantic development at all, it is rushed in the last set of chapters.

I liked the ending.
For starters, it was a bit unpredictable. The boss had a lot more screen time throughout the story, which always screams "1st male lead" and is probably the reason why a lot of people seem to sympathize with him more.
Even so, I think it shouldn't have ended any other way. Considering the way the chief treated Luda when they were trying to stop the time loop, there's no way she would've ended up falling for him. He only stopped being a jerk after she died, and even then I'm still not entirely convinced he truly changed. Yes, he learned how to not treat people like trash, but he probably still believes most of the crap he used to say.
I think it's funny how a lot of people complain that women never go for the nice guy, but when they finally see it happen they find a way to complain about it too
This is far from being a NTR. Actually, it would've been exactly that only if the ending had been different. She was never in a relationship with the chief, it was all a fabrication from his narcissistic mind. If this had been a trashy NTR hentai, Luda would've definitely ended up with the middle-aged dude that treats her like trash instead of the good guy.
Just because the chief had more screen time it doesn't mean he deserved Luda or that their relationship had more value compared to her relationship with assistant Kang. Even if assistant Kang might be considered "bland" for shoujo standards, he's the realistic choice that any self-respecting, sensible woman would make in real life. And even if assistant Kang was removed from the story, I think she still wouldn't have ended with the chief. She simply hated him way too much.
However, if the author had managed to fit in another love interest for the reformed chief without it feeling too forced I wouldn't have complained as long as it was established that he'd actually treat her right.
