Haru x Kiyo - Vol. 9 Ch. 36

Well, it was decent. Thankfully it wasn't that shitty chapter from before. This was heartfelt.
It was good

A great series overall, even if the quality wobbled there at the end. Actual character progression, actual ROMANCE progression, characters properly talked with each other (eventually) to resolve misunderstandings instead of wallowing in drama, and they didn't feel the need to pair off the extras in the end. It's also nice that the main characters never waffled between loving each other and "maybe I'll try being with this other person that likes me!".

Feels like it got axed cuz it didn't follow the "proper" path of the "pointless drama and idiot cliche plot" and also cuz the characters didn't "develop the misunderstandings instead of clearing them" which is something this manga didn't do hence not allowing the filler chapters of pointless drama to happen. Also because the characters were true to their feelings for their partner even if they were in a long distance relationship instead of breaking up because someone else had their sights on one of them.

In short: the manga was axed because it wasn't to the liking of the "pointless drama and cliche plot" loving editors.

@chenando1

Lmao no. If it was "axed", then it's because it DID have too much pointless drama. And all of the same type - boyfriend has to leave, she has to deal with annoying third wheel "friend" who can't get over her and take a hint to gtfo.

How many times did Kiyoshiro leave for extended period of time, 2 or 3? First half of the series was great, second was terrible.

@chenando1 I think it's good that sometimes straightforward romance like this exist, but I think it's not without it's fault compared to the usual long winded romance. This is good but the author seems running out of things to write even before being 'axed' since, well believe it or not, it's hard to keep a story afloat forever, it will only devolve from there. It's best it ends here, I think it should've end even sooner on the earlier chapters for better impact instead of the last spurt ending we have now.

I hated this manga by the end. The MC is in a relationship where she will always be 2nd to something else in Kiyoshirou's life. Don't get me wrong; LDRs are fine but a good relationship should be give and take. Kiyoshirou just takes and takes.

This manga had a great start and even greater potential, but steadily decreased in quality as tiresome amounts of unnecessary drama was added. Don't get me wrong—I recognize that it's typical for shoujo manga to throw in an annoying conflict or two in the relationship of the main characters, but good grief. I'd honestly argue that the the two characters fought about their relationship more than they ever actually enjoyed it, as it seemed 90% of this story's content was focused on breaking them apart.
I remember being excited for this manga when I first came across it, but I can't say I'll be rereading it anytime soon :// It's a shame that it never got better, but thanks anyways to all the groups who scanlated this!! Your work was still appreciated, regardless. 🙌

The only good thing about all this mess called the final volumes was to see Haru with shorter hair

Liked the couple, but both "love rivals" were awful every time they were on the page and they got way too much focus (standard amount of focus for love rivals, but too much for THESE ones) so it dragged the whole thing down immensely.

What a shame. Don't regret reading it though.

Adios mouth breathers crying about the romance. I also applaud you all for attaining the rank as grand wizards. LOL sad little shits!

P.S. It wasn't axed.

Well, I'm glad it's over. I really liked this at first, but the last few chapters were just painful to read.

It's amazing how easy it can be to utterly ruin a fun premise along with a cute and quirky cast of characters and turn both leads into infuriating twits that make you wish the (non-romantic rivals) side characters got more in the spotlight.
