Hataraku Maou-sama! - Vol. 17 Ch. 84

Time for dad to kick ass and drag his loyal retainer, child, and wifeMORTAL ENEMY back to Tokyo.

Dear Tl, I'm not saying Emi was a weakling, but Olba threaten her using the her wheat field.
Not her father, or someone else life but a FREAKING WHEAT FIELD!
It's like she couldn't farm it anywhere else.

Tell me that's not the most stupid hostage you ever heard.

to my best dude translator emi is a weakling because she is a shit girl with no backbone she going to choose to kill a demon just to keep her dead daddy wheat field alive so ya if that not bullshit I don't know what is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Reading the comments. why do I think that wheat field become hostage is just a metaphor? Am I missing something?

really wheat of all things to be blackmailed by
I mean I get the sentimental value but why wheat why not the house or some family gem or smth
wheat is just kinda funny to be blackmailed lmao

@qornanali she told Olba her greatest desire was to regrow her father's fields again as she thought the entire region was devastated nd that it was the only thing she could do to remind her of her father. To summarize, she told him out and loud for months or more her weakness.

Strong words in credit page, tl. Words i completely agree with. Also, Olba, how many times do we need to teach you this lesson, old man? You don't fuck with Emilia&co.

I just want the Emily to rip and tear Olba down. Not Maou but Emily, with her bare hands

Alas Ramus is stll as cute as a button.

And man, I am looking forward to these blackmailing, warmongering, deceptive assholes going down.

You also see this quite a bit in the world today. People wearing a righteous face while arguing for warring with and killing other people who they have been diligently demonizing to their citizens.

This is literally stupid. Does she not know how land works? If they salt the earth, there's still land nearby to use. The larger the area, the less cost effective sending the message gets. She's holding onto a small strip of land instead of just accepting that they can have that wheat field anywhere. She's an adult. She should have learned to accept loss by now. Wallowing in self-pity and loss only creates a pathetic imitation of maturity.
