In case anyone is wondering, her chant allows her to summon armor with stat boosts from the spirits she named. However, as compensation to the spirits she won't be able to sleep well and rest properly for a while. Don't know if loses x hours of sleep from summoning the regalia, or from using it for every n minutes, or both.
Seems like the author is going with the familiar trope of absolute power corrupting individuals into absolute scum. Those four bounty hunters murdering a stranger just because he's in an unusual area and extremely small, almost impossible chance he's helping their prey. Speaking of which, she's suppose to be in disguise and hiding her ears. In any case, those four may be strong in a up front fight with four to one odds but they picked the wrong guy to bully. LN gives more details but MC has a warped and broken personality due to years of abuse and neglect from his parents, but was wearing a mask of civility (which Vysis and his abusive classmates stripped off by mocking and exiling him,) as thanks and a way to avoid troubling his uncle and family who gave him a warm home.

I think Dragon Quest games have an explanation, or may be the reason themselves, so it may also be Toriyama's fault somehow. The puff puff scene in the only DQ game I remember playing, says that they have the same texture, jiggle, and squishiness, as anime tits.
