Help requested in understanding -or- just a definition please

Hi.
I'm looking for a better understanding of the term "cultivator" please?
Is a 'cultivator' ... like a Sorcerer? Wizard? Medium? Soothsayer? Necromancer? Priest?
Something altogether different? A cultural/mythological magic worker or real?
(How fascinating that would be, right? Worth finding out more as it is)
Anyone?
If there's a central site that isn't Wikipedia or Google (seriously weary of all the clickbait & sales links)
I would be grateful to learn. I do love what I'm reading and the art ... holy crappenheimer! I know I'm not getting the full impact of these stories because I don't know. Not even sure how to look it up or what to trust without a lot of distracting crap linking.
