Ah, how bittersweet. I find it tragic that Bard's love died offscreen without even a last physical reunion or confession, but at the same time, he really is free to do as he wishes from that point on in accordance with his sense of honor.

I have a difficult time telling if Loenn's a father figure to the young man or a grandpa figure, though clearly him and the boy's mother's relationship became more romantic once she became an adult and returned with him in his infancy. Wonder if we'll ever get any elaboration into the details of their relationship as he travels and has the time to reckon with her passing.

Either way I'm so glad to read two chapters of this at once, such a fun albeit sombre story and a lovely troubled cast.

I admit since last reading I'd forgotten that the assassin was a bit of a goof ball. :') love it though, I hope he becomes a regular companion for Loen.

man I don't even know what to say, not only did the dude never get to actually have a relationship with a very likable girl that loved him back, but he didn't even get to say goodbye, didn't get to write a letter, she died way too young, etc.
