Henkyou no Roukishi - Bard Loen - Vol. 4 Ch. 18 - Youthful Days

@moistnoodlez

To let your imagination run wild.
In whatever way the soup would have been drawn, your imagination will always beat it.

Retired knight receives a sword worthy of the heroes of legend: Gosh dangit, what's Fate got planned for me now? 🤣
He's been around enough to know this can't lead anywhere quiet.

Recently saw a RAW of waaaaay ahead chapters :v things get...interesting?
For the curious
In the chapter, Leon is riding next to some lord who's luring a horned horse (they don't call it unicorn so I won't) into a trap by using a young.
The 'trap' is basically a canyon filled with explosives and archers on the cliffs hiding.

Then when the thing shows up, they killed the young, set off the trap and make a wall of fire, and at the same time the guy order his subordinate to push Leon down into the cliff.
Cue villainous monologue about how 'you're going to die here Bard Loen' and how his conspiracy will not be ruined by the likes of him etc etc.

Loen's new horse, also a horned one, used its body to cushioned the fall.
While Loen is having a moment of grief over his stead sacrificing itself to protect him or how dare the bastard killed such a nice stead just for this, his eyes and the lured horse met.

Basically he's about to get a new badass horse to ride :v

@Lynia
Let either the translator or proofreader know, the response in this situation is never "yeeeesss".
SmartSelect_20200106-141810_Firefox_Nightly.jpg
It's "okaaaaaay". The only time "yes" is elongated is when you like the result, for instance, you get a strike while bowling and go "YESSS!" Etc.

@DrWhoCares I didn't know that, is there a reason for it? 🤔What about when someone rings at the door, for example, do people not say "Yeeeees"?
I do admit that in the case of this chapter, "Okaaaaaay" sounds better though. We'll make the change, thanks for the feedback.

*Cooks pot over campfire*
And now we cook it on low heat... 😒

Bruh, its a campfire. You can't get that delicate an adjustment so easily.

@Lynia Good example of another usage, however, that's a question.

"Yeeeees?"

The example you gave is always questioning in nature, never sarcastic and dismissive.
The example here, and plenty of other manga, is dismissive/rebellious. It's a confirmation of understanding, begrudgingly.
Another alternative is "Sure, sure."
There's other alternatives, but they're all situational.

Ahh many thanks to NANI? Scans for gifting us another chapter of Bard <3
