Henkyou no Roukishi - Bard Loen - Vol. 4 Ch. 19 - Master

Damn, i am reminded yet again of how much i loved this series!
YES! Our Bard's backstory! Glorious!
Thx so much for the translations!

It comes off as odd how a bronze sword is so much less expensive than a steel one here, one of the reasons bronze fell out of use for swords in the first place was because tin was expensive and rare.
I suppose tin could be plentiful in this world and steel a bit rarer, though I doubt the author thought of that point.

@Nimroth this is after an advanced civilization has disappeared, one with enchanted weapons, which one would be harder to come by right now, or a hundred years ago?

I mean Steel is way more complicaded to get than Bronce, Tin maybe hard to come by but Good steel is even more complicated to manufacture, Also the metalwork with steel is harder, maybe thats why is more expensive, also Bronce isnt as durable

@Nimroth
You should provide sources with chronology to support your statement, because most of us don't have in-depth knowledge of metallurgy history.

steel weapons are considered stronger and more durable than bronze weapons so it makes sense to me that steel would be more expensive.

In fact, steel being more expensive than bronze (because it's higher quality) is standard in fantasy settings.

@cgr I don't think this fantasy world is reflective of our own, but tin is much closer in scarcity to silver. 2 parts per million to be exact. For reference, iron is 50,000 parts per million.

For anyone who isn't sure how scarce 1 part per million is, it's the equivalent of 32 seconds out of a year (around 31.5 million seconds).

Anyways, are we supposed to recognize this wandering knight? Dark hair and complexion and pointy ears remind me of Lecan.
