Thank you for the chapter. Like in some cultivation novels where the MC has a wise old man looking after him, Mo has a old demonic beast whom has already almost killed him in the past and seems to be constantly plotting to take over.
Very good chapter, I'm glad they were able to save the little sister.
Good conversation at the end of the chapter and I think I could hear how the cat laughed xD
This is miles beyond any cultivation stories I have read, granted I didn't read much of them. It's so refreshing to have a main character that have a moral sense close to ours and keep facing dilemnas instead of leisurly cruising through everything.
@meinburn Indeed, It's pretty up there as far as cultivation stories go. Too many of them focus on having a simple power fantasy and not a story about a cultivator and their journey as they pursue power. It's a subtle but very important difference.
It's like the difference between Isekai trash and a good fantasy story.
So true, so true - the moral compass and the scale are hugely important! Makes me remember why exactly I dropped Reverend Insanity (that weird Gu-based xianxia) around chapter 200:
when the mc made a bear eat a girl and then devoured the bear himself to forcibly break through the next cultivation stage.
Not much to say about this one. If you're wondering why the way to save the girl wasn't mentioned earlier, it's because the cat wanted the kid to abandon his sister so they could take him back to the sect without sacrificing anything.
@Inori That's when I dropped it, too. The MC is a robot and the story reads like it was written by the edgiest teen in existence.
Hmm... I doubt he'll abandon his chances for Foundation Establishment so easily. So how will this go down? Kill her while drowning in his own tears? Or the "other" method, since the demon happens to be female? Latter seems too simple for this series though...
Mo moral journey is really good, the author really emphasizes the difficulties that one must face growing as a cultivator the right way, @Inori the example you gave really is one of those that mention the hardships... then make the character smash through them like they don't even exist, thanks to you i won't even try to read that one.
