@demotivator, I think what Lin Jie meant was that he got all his OP power from the sacrifice his lover did in the past.

@Thatguy559 it was Dao Qi Zhan who said it, not Lin Jie... and it was more that Qi Zhan didn't actually lose anything in the manhua whereas he did in the light novel.
