Hero? I Quit a Long Time Ago

@nfzeta While I agree this doesn't operate like One Punch, the similarities in terms of "Hero Association" and having an "OPMC" are just too striking to not call it "a poor man's OPM".
I reached chapter 3, and I gotta say, I can't bother to read any more of it. The entire story's a mess, and there's absolutely no plot hooks to begin with. The MC is very strong, but he acts like a complete beta-fag. There's a whole lot that happens all around him, but it's so chaotic and random that it's incomprehensible.

Long story short, just yet another Chinese comic that moves too fast with very little direction.

This motherfucking author is the worst in Chinese. It's brain bashing bad writing (as in constant mistakes in writing) but the story is quite nice. I started reading it because I thought it was funny but it's super dark compared to OPM in the later chapters. Like the world's villains are pretty much all crazy serial killers and there's a Joker like bastard in the story who never dies. The first few volumes are chill and pretty much about him handling shit with easy. More of his story is leaked as the story goes on. Basically OPM with way more backstory and darker world.

In case people want to know, he's grown sick of killing (also cuz his GF told him some shit). His previous GF got killed saving him and he regrets it to the point that he stopped fighting for his justice (which is literally killing all supposed bad guys). Tons of conspiracies occurring in the background and an insane amount of innocents die all over the place. The joker like dude is a scientist and spends a lot of time modifying people's memories (pretty much all types of fucked up shit) and thinking of strategies to kill the main character. Also quite a few people figure his identity out later but he gives almost no shit. He's also not insanely strong to begin with but he gained his strength fighting through the Apocalypse which actually means he doesn't have a "super" power. He's actually a god-like powerful swordsman. Tons of characters come up and they typically stay around because he doesn't want to kill anymore. At some point in time, he goes and becomes a teacher for a bit which was similar to GTO.

@ultimatehaki A translation error, probably... Chinese doesn't handle scales the same way we do in English. There's a reference to him being jobless for five years in chapter 2, so that's probably what was meant.

It's like "OPman" action with alot of "Grand Blue" brotherly comradely hilarity. Very funny and entertaining to read.

Although first few chapters feel like a OPman ripoff and has little character, this improves and the comedy gets better. Characters are alittle bland, even visually it was difficult to differentiate the MC from his buddies but this also improves as the characters gain more defining traits & appearances.

Reading the first chapter. ... .. Is this Chinese One Punch Man?
Looking at other comments, I'm not the only one thinking that I guess.

Well not chinese OPM but super OP main with toliet humor and lots of cliches.

It's less OPM and more like, what happens when an RPG protagonist retires after saving the world, disappears, then gets pulled into new problems.

He'a not invincible, but he IS the protagonist who saved the world already. None of these people understand what they're dealing with.

It makes me laugh because it really reminds me of NewGame+ when you're obliterating everything. Technically you aren"5 super powered, you're just REALLY in the wrong place lol.
Like an end game Fallout protag suddenly fighting early game bandits.

I'm just curious if his sister knows he's zero? She seems to know he's a strong fighter.

@Scynix
Sister doesn't know he's zero but she is a major fan of Zero so Lin Jie will never reveal it because it will ruin her role model if he ever revealed it.

If you think this is copy of OPM... then OPM also simply copy overused trope:

- underdog OP MC: check
- record-breaking entrance exam montage: check

which this manhua 'accidentally' used. This manhua also used plenty of other tropes, therefore 'copying' many different existing manga.

That doesn't automatically mean OPM is bad or this thing is good, though. So far, this is just a brainless hit-em-all action-comedy-variety show, which is still entertaining.

Roar my OP mode lol, This will end pretty fast and the aftermath should be insane

For those of you checking the comments before reading: Is it objectively good? No, not really, tbh. Is it fun to read and a guilty pleasure? Yes, absolutely.

Freezer heroine get younger everytime she appears, from a mature woman to a twenty years old idol...cool.
I've read all TL chapters and looked at the raws and still haven't undestood who the girl with black wins is...not many apparitions, the novel gave more info?
