I was just speculating on whether this sequel is after the event when Miyabi was injected and chopped by the MC from the previous manga really killed him.

Goddamn, seeing from a perspective that isn't Akira's kinda gives you a whole new sense of appreciation for being on his side of the conflict. If I were to be drifted to a "can't-possibly-be-escaped-from" kind of island, I would be really glad to be able to rely on someone as overpowered as Akira for a change, I kinda feel what the secondary cast feels like being around him and not doing much that is as particularly helpful as the things he does.

With some selected exceptions like NIshiyama and his god-tier miso soup.

Miyabi never died after being injected and getting his head hit several times and falling from the pagoda. And he regenerated perfectly after the drug wore off. I am unsure of whether you do not remember the ending, or you meant that you are speculating about an alternate universe.
