Last I checked you couldn't actually see any boats in LA with the skyscrapers in the background because of how flat the land is, how distant the beaches are from downtown LA, and all the smog in the city air.

I agree about Edogawa being a good harem MC. I'm a woman, and not really here for the girls. My first harem anime was Rosario + Vampire and I liked it okay, but didn't get why so many girls would fall in love with him. He was nice, but as interesting as a piece of dry toast. The harem in this is pretty standard -issue. I think the idea of a boob-rubbing disease is pretty funny, which is why I'm reading. Edogawa is kind, has quick-thinking and observation skills, and his devotion to dorky cat shirts is funny. He has personality beyond the girls: he's not a wimp or a perv.
