Finding it difficult to get into this. Adored the original but this spinoff is taking time to get interesting.

I think the one at the end of the chapter 2, the girl focus with the umbrella, is a different girl, i think she is might be Hoshino Mirai, she is absent on the start of chapter 2 and then showed up on chapter 3 so it connects

The story is darker than HSG, but I am still liking it. Needs more of the original characters though.

I'm betting on it being a GG character though. Not like SF had many fans pre '09.

I think this is going great. I know people have been wanting to see the games but ultimately the original High Score Girl was a love story. It heavily feature games, but it became less and less of a feature as the story progressed.
Instead of repeating a love story, it seems the story is going to show that games can mean different things for different people. Escapism from different situations. People with different backgrounds who can unite over the love of games.

I can't wait for the next ones.

This is a pretty strong take IMO. Personally I'm also enjoying this progression for what it is. With that said, we definitely need to have some characters talk about actual PSP-era arcade games at some point, and chapter 6 doesn't seem like too late to start.
