Himari no Mawari - Vol. 3 Ch. 19 - Haruki's Feelings

I dont think the tomboy ruined the series she was annouying and played to big part in the series more than the brother the series just lacked direction.

The main character perspective hope around alot with tomboy getting main character spotlight alot. There was never any character progression for the brother and with the latest ch its obvious the brother sister getting together was end game but hardly had any meaningful interactions.

Overall terrible story telling.

was this yuri, incest or just slice of life? even with the last chapter we'll probably never know because of the incompetence of the author.

Kei really ruined this series for me, and I almost always love yuri subplots in manga. Something about the way she acts is just a total turnoff, to the point even when I read a chapter with a distinct lack of her, I wonder how different this series could have been had she just maintained being a background character without so much forward attention.

The art was so good...
LIKE SOOO GOOD.

While I don't share the author's writing sensibilities. Like. I don't know why he focuses on certain things at times, and why he makes use of such low pagecounts never actually having an overarching thematic, but he had potential.

I guess the world of manga is just cutthroat. If people don't like you, even if you excel in one field, "namely art" for this manga you're gone.

Not gonna lie, I'll miss the pretty pictures. Not gonna miss much else though.

Maybe if Criminale! had better art it would have went on longer... Guh... Axes always get me feeling bad regardless of who they happen to.

Hey thanks for that. I always felt like that manga was done dirty when it ended without looking too far into.
It makes me feel slightly better knowing that it wasn't a quality issue.

I do feel pretty dejected about the creator though. It's not the first time, I've heard of an author's health being the reason behind the cancellation of a work. Iris Zero also went through similar troubles. I really hope Criminale's author is doing alright.

Do you have any info regarding this manga?

@TitanAnteus
No, but given it was in a Kirara magazine it probably just got axed normally like other competitive magazines.
I'm convinced the whole yuri sub-plot was an editor influenced development, given the magazine it's in.

This chapter was actually pretty nice, almost as if sticking to the original premise instead of wasting time on pointless shit like an unreciprocated yuri crush improved the quality of a story.

A shame it's too little too late. At least I won't feel sad when axe-kun claims this one as its victim.

@Sleabedybarb
I just did some research on Kirara magazine and you're right.
K-ON, Gakkou Gurashi and a lot of Shoujo-Ai like Shitsuji Shoujo and the like were published in that magazine. A good number of their manga either have the tag gender-bender or shoujo-ai. Some are straight up yuri.

This is making me doubly curious why the manga got axed then. It was catering to that crowd... but maybe it wasn't doing it well. Kei wasn't a very likeable character, so maybe the people who like Shoujo-Ai couldn't like her, and disliked the manga because of her?

It's not like there's much competition right now in that magazine. Out of all its relatively recent offerings only Yumekui Merry was decent in my opinion. And from an art perspective there's really no competition.

Lmao, just as expected peoples straight up gang up on Kei and said that her fault when you barely acknowledge how boring and bland the Male MC was. Seriously, the brother wasn't intersting at all, he doesn't do anything but complain. I found him as annoying as you found Key annoying. The one thing i don't like about Kei was the whole "i hate boys" to justify she is a lesbian. That's such a bad trope. Anyway, most of the comments just make me believe that people would had less problem if Kei was straight and in love with Male MC because she is just the normal Childhood friend stereotype but people hate on her because she was a lesbian and so not in love with the MC.

K-ON, Gakkou Gurashi and a lot of Shoujo-Ai like Shitsuji Shoujo and the like were published in that magazine.

Funny you mention Gakkou Gurashi because it also get axed, well after 12/13 volumes but still.

Ironic chapter title since the theme of this manga is that Haruki's feelings mean shit to everyone
