Thank you for the chapter. However I feel like there is a slight translation error where throughout the chapter "small animals" is used when "small mammals" is meant. The former would encompass every single small animal, including frogs, lizards, fish, etc. But in the context of the chapter it is obvious it is meant to referr to hamsters, degu, chinchillas and other mammals.

@Narf - While I agree with you, the exact word used in the original text was "小動物" (small moving thing), which gives the following in a dictionary lookup:

Original: 小動物
Kana: しょうどうぶつ
Romaji: shoudoubutsu
Definitions:
小動物 (しょうどうぶつ) = small animal/

My guess is that in real life usage, the word tends to mean "mammal". But since I don't live in Japan, nor have any Japanese friends to ask about it, I have to go by the dictionary.
