I feel obligated to point this out: the translator note on page 30 is both unnecessary and misleading. The "bar oath" that Nitta was talking about was the oath that Utako made to re-open the bar and start serving drinks with passion again. She made it while stone-cold drunk and therefore forgot about it in the morning. It was unrelated to the Japanese cultural ideal of a bartender listening to people's worries.

Damn every time I reread the series I am always in awe how rapidly Hitomi transforms from normal middle school girl to a monstrous titan with apocalyptic powers. I mean an entire room full of grown adults are throwing a party to celebrate ganging up on one high school girl. (and given how incompetent her employees seem to be I doubt she had any help at all.) It's frickin hilarious

I was just thinking that the mangaka, generally bad art aside, really did put a lot of effort into drawing all the little reflective bits of Hitomi's frames...
... Except there is no bridge support. I'm not expecting separate parts for bridge support on thick-framed glasses, but they always have extensions on the inner edges to rest on the nose. Why does nobody ever bother drawing that, even in close-up shots?

Still... thick glasses.... feels good man.

Just wish she wasn't long-sighted and prone to only wearing them in very niche circumstances.



... Also what Nitta said to his former crush is going WAY too far. She was trying to comfort him and he basically goes and calls her a piece of shit. I'm honestly surprised she didn't even respond.
If the ship-tards are right and he somehow did end up with Hitomi... then that girl would have finally stolen everything away from her.
