I think the reason Hinamatsuri works as well as it does is because of characters like Anzu. They just add such a special, small splash of nothing but joy and the magic of happy coincidences.
It’s like a refreshing drink in the middle of a hearty meal.
I like these kinds of characters.

@fuzzywuzzyjoe this series doesn't really forget stuff from what I've seen so far. There have been references to things like that one shitty documentary about nitta, the successor incident, etc. That's the main reason I like the series so much is because they feel kind of like people as stuff doesn't just go away after a few chapters
