For the record I agree. Life is just a scientific fact, and wanting meaning behind it is kind of odd thing to ask for from the getgo. It's like asking "why is gravity gravity?". But it's understood between most people that this is a sentimental question, not a literal one...

And that leads me to another point. You denied any sentiment regardless of the question being a turn of phrase(sorta), which is usually viewed as edgy. Also, your answer was unnecessarily dramatic. The latter is just my opinion though....not sure if it added edge for that guy but for me it sealed the deal. lol

Had you stopped at "Life has no meaning." the dude probably wouldn't have said that to you. Not trying to come at you or anything, just thought I'd explain why you were accused of edginess (granted I'm basically doing the same, but hey gain some lose some)

You can avert your eyes or gouge them out in order to not see anything or make the world disappears, but the truth and reality will always be what they are, things that you can't ever change as it's already an established fact.
