I actually wish there were two Horimiya stories. The original premise - the "goth"-guy and the "in"-girl becoming friends and eventually lovers through their shared secrets - was really interesting, and honestly really not explored as much as it deserves. Despite how much I miss that though the silly comedy which replaced it is really on point, it's just really fucking funny.

I like the story but i kinda feel like they loss the initial 'trait' from main characters, i want author put more effort in hori-miya relationship, i want they build the trust and have a kind of deep conversation, maybe about miya past, hori insecurity or smth like that. From around ch 30ish up until now i just feel like reading bunch of extras, its funny tho but i read Horimiya because Hori and Miyamura.

I too don't understand the reaction about girls having piercing. But I guess it's a custom thing.
In my country it's completely normal for girls to have 1 pair of piercing, while it is a foreign concept for boys to get piercing, like in this manga.
Most girls have their ears pierced at a very young age, or even baby, by their parents to save them from the pain later on.
