The beef stew she makes it basically soup with beef (which is called 肉汁nikujaga, globally we translate it to beef stew) However the stew she's talking about is シチュー which is the cream stew that's presented below. Just a cultural thing :) Since nikujaga is originated from Japan and cream stew originated from foreign country ^^
