Hoshino, Me o Tsubutte

So according to spoilers the author basically did a 'Prison School ending'? That's a shame but I can't say I'm surprised, the manga should have ended after 70 or so chapters (basically where the current translation is) so as soon as I discovered that it drags on I knew it mostly likely would not have a good ending.

This is Romance 101: You get the main couple together and wrap up the story soon after, otherwise it either goes in a "realistic route" with a problematic relationship (unnecessary add drama and whatnot) or it ends up being boring (*coff* Horimiya *coff*) and either way it becomes a drag to read on. This manga is too far away from reality to go the first route but I bet the mangaka does it anyway to "subvert expectations" and when people do that just for the sake of doing it, well, it sucks.

Any credence that he sabotaged the series cause he didnt get an anime?

That may be true, but Masuda Eiji managed to get the couple of Jitsu wa Watashi wa together halfway through the manga and the manga became better for it. It can be done, and I would have liked to see it done well here, too. Haven't read the spoilers though.

I heard the story on /a/ and I'm still can't believe all of it.
I can either end it all right now and leave an unsatisfying taste or end what I started and basically materialize my hate as I continue to read this.
I'm so confused af.

Guys dont look up how the series actually ended just say it ended on chapter 68 the real ending is god awful and you really dont wanna know what actually happens.

All these comments about ending is right, I've just read it and the thread and discussion about this manga in Japanese website also already on fire, everyone is raging at the author. I still don't get why the author want to destroy his manga career like this.

When the manga first started, and then years later... I was surprised it lasted this long. But reading it, I know why. MC is good and a lot of good moments. And points to not having an ecchi + harem.

After looking at the ending summary, I don't know. I'm going to believe years later they'll see each other again and live happily ever after. Hoshino figures out to do makeup by herself. MC...gets a haircut...? Hard to imagine him grow up, become a horrible art teacher? lol I miss Yuge-sensei. Or if they both end up as teachers, Hoshino the PE teacher and they continue to fix students' problems QvQ

Ok guys, I just read the raws, and the ending was nothing like I thought people were saying. It's not that bad lol, it's just about him growing as a third year from his experiences in the previous one. It kind of feels like the Sakurasou no Pet ending.

Does anyone know why it's listed as completed here within 9 volumes but Baka-updates lists it as 12 volumes and ongoing?

If this is to be believed, then the ending is fucking horrible.
By read, did you mean, you skimmed the images or did you actually read.

So I guess the TLs started again because the epilogue kinda fixed the terrible ending?

ok whats the secret, she's actually not a human girl but a full blown alien disguising as a jk with thick stage makeup everyday? *i have yet to read this lol* jk

@boag No such thing ever happened that bad ending of manga (and there was shitloads of them) caused destroying mangaka's career.
