@vasqueztion Unfortunately that's perfectly normal in Japan still. There's also a lot of misogyny in the country. As much as I love many things about Japan, I'm damn glad I never had to work there. The sexism in the US is bad enough.

There's not as much sexism in Japan as some make it out to be. I have relatives there and the topics of the US are also discussed there. The universitys in Japan have no problems the US has to face, and sexism in the workplace is by far not the norm. "Sexual Harassment" or "Power Harassment" are serious offends and are not taken lightly, be it again man or woman. Your picture of Japan is pretty oldfashioned and backwards.
