Maybe I am a dumb dumb here. But don't get Phos's motivations here.

Why would anyone work with someone who ground all of her friends this moon dust?

Maybe in the next chapters it would be clearer about what her motivations and conflict is.

Well, I'd say Phos' thinking is that if he gets Sensei to work and thus make the Moon Bois go away, at least more gems won't have to be lost.

Though he doesn't know Sensei's motivation for not praying right now, so there's also that. Maybe if he had learned it at this point, things might've turned out differently. Hell, Phos makes bad decisions (notice how I don't say "stupid") every couple of chapters these days. Can't blame him though, he isn't mentally great since that winter
