How do you tag people?

How do you tag people in threads? I've tried pairing "@" with the person's name but that doesn't work.

@Killjoynik it gets highlighted only if you're logged on to the account that's been tagged, so that you can easily spot the comment you've been tagged in

The notification voodoo magic doesn't work if you put a space between the @ symbol an the the user's name.

No, it's not working because @FutariRio misspelled the intended recipient's name (bakagayaiji vs bakagaijin).
