How to Disguise as a Failure - Ch. 1

Huh, I had no idea birth marks are considered a curse in China. That's really interesting.

Thanks for the translation. This story sounds really promising! 👀

What do they do in china if someone has vitiligo? What a hard life it would be to have everyone assume you're cursed just because of different pigments

A bunch of idiots making something come true by causing it, but that meteorite thing was a coincidence.

Obvious plot twist seems obvious, but Chinese story writing usually doesn't pull elaborate baits. I guess that alone is worth following for.

I want to believe she really says "simping".

Self fulfilling prophecy becomes self fulfilling prophecy due to the parents’s inability to have basic logic. Like, y’all scorn and abuse the “evil” girl and get surprised when she hates your guts lol. I wonder if the sister in this version hates her or not.

the parents are so dumb, and I bet the rose girl is a green tea bitch and only tried to save her to look good, and to be called an "angel"

The art is fucking amazing. I can't believe it's chinese mawha, since the art isn't generic trash. I'll keep reading for the art alone.

@JWChibi idk if that specific birthmark would be considered bad luck, but certain ones are considered bad and certain ones are considered good

If I remember right, a child being born with a disfiguration is just bad luck in general. Because people fear that any children born from that child would also have said disfiguration. It could be as extreme as a lame limb, missing facial features or as minor as large birth marks.

"her premature death will cause even more misfortune" => let's execute her so that she dies prematurely
I guess they despised/feared her so much that they were willing to invite more misfortune by killing her?

@Daisuke_K
Noo, don't remove the veil from my eyes!
