If you replace the trap with a real girl who want to try using makeup and be girly, the story would not change at all. . so why did the author bother making Hiura a guy in the first place? It also doesn't help that hiura already acts like a girl anyways. .

Literally just reread this from the start since there hadn't been a chapter for a while, and then this came out.
@mikl Midou would be stolen.
@rissira The change between a guy to a girlish girl is much bigger than a girl turning into a more girlish girl. The story in the latter case would definitely boil down to, "You've always been beautiful to me even without the makeup", and Midou would look worse for only getting attracted to a girl when she is fill of make up, at least in this case Hiura's transformation getting people's attention makes more sense. Not to mention that yes, at the end of the day it's a gimmick, and there's a TON of Shoujo manga and even stuff in other media, especially western stuff with, an "average" girl puts on makeup and suddenly everyone is in love with her. Cross-dressing makes it more interesting.

@WangthePhoenix I think it’s the latter, or I guess he could be jealous. It’s been made pretty clear that he likes Mudou, so I don’t think he wanted to check them out, if that’s how you meant it.

@Brackass Women usually have bigger thighs/legs then men. I mean, he’s pretty skinny, so him having skinny legs makes sense. And it’s not like this one manga is setting beauty standards for men.

@Darklight99 My problem is that it is not handled well. . Hiura was a trap in the 1st chapter. . it was handled well only in 1st chapter. . the later chapters pretty much just made him a girl. . If I showed this to one of my friends without them seeing 1st chapter they might just believe Hiura was a girl cause the story would not change if Hiura was actually a girl. . if you understand what I'm saying?
