but because of the unique ability he stole from the demons he stole their lifespan, magic, etc. which made him surive that long, it also revitalized him and now he looks younger, he probably also has a huge lifespan because of it

Well firstly, they wouldn't have any idea on how long he would be alive.
Secondly, it was a rift and he was the mage, so they wouldn't have the knowledge or skills to enter.

@Boomburst well it is a fantasy where adventurers are common. so carrying weapons is not uncommon and they prob think its just a heirloom or a departure gift from his parents or somthing along those lines
