Endings like this only work if we don't know what's going to happen next. Not that l mind the chapter (it's fun), but the cliffhanger is completely unnecessary.

pretty sure this cliffhanger has nothing to do with tension or keeping you hooked, its literally just where they ended the chapter once they hit the page quota.

in fact, im pretty sure thats like 99% of isekai cliffhangers. they're not going to put in an additional 20 pages to finish the scene, so they prep for a cliffhanger where they can take a break at the minimum requires pages.
