I just think about it but in kana it should be something like "De-ru-ni-e-ru", if that the case it's not just Dernier but Derniere (Dernière with the accent), which means Last in french too but it's the feminine version (grammatical gender). And since we talk about a woman it's more accurate to be Derniere/Dernière than Dernier ^^.
