And @shiho They definitely mentioned their backstory before she reincarnated in the earlier chapters but I forget the exact ones. I believe the Duke personally chose to marry the past Roselia cuz her family wasn't really involved in politics or had too much power and I believe she accepted it because of money/prestige and she may have had a crush on the Duke too

@Despada As a reader I know it's his job, but Roselia was scared shitless the first time she saw him with the bloody body. They never addressed his "villainy" again before he began warming up to her. It gives the impression that she's the kind of person who doesn't care their s.o. is doing vile stuff as long as they're nice to them.
