No kidding, right? That's how much of a trauma it was for her. Even though he did so much for her, her fear took over her reasoning and she feared for the worse. It will take much longer before she is truly healed.

Interestingly enough, the whole recurring abuse PTSD thing is part of the reason that some of the darker elements of the story (or the big flags that things are about to get much darker in the future) don't seem as jarring to me as they'd feel if some other cute/fluffy series took that turn.

aahh Illial is honestly so pure. poor child just wanted to return her kindness. and he gave her a bird's feather something that he just picked up because he literally has nothing

and she gave him a pair of gloves. i know he'll remember her kindness forever. maybe someday he'll be free from those old men? and then they'll meet again? i do hope he'll be free in the future
