I Don't Want to Be Empress! - Ch. 1

What Aeriandra, GreenDragon and Aldis wrote. Just why? I don't get it. Maybe her family would be destroyed and this is the only way out? Maybe it was stated in the roman, that Serina had a lot of lovers? (Maybe that's what she understands under a slow life, that damn typical isekai harem protagonist.) The married Queen seems to be a bad position from a romantic and in other ways quality of life position. I hope we're missing some important pieces of the picture or her plan does not make an ounce of sense.

i'm gonna follow this bc i'm a sucker for these isekai stories, but i don't get her reasoning... if she wants a quiet and peaceful just don't become queen??? like that's not a quiet and easy or peaceful life??? afdsljsdfkjl i mean whatever, but i anticipate the heroine will suck and if she doesn't she'll still always be jealous and that will be a problem.... aaaaaaa

thanks for the translation!!

If see Serena all is WORK, it's a JOB. You know the flip side would be the Male lead will fall for Serena instead of heroine. Problems!

@Anish_Agarwal I stopped reading Abandoned Empress half way after I read spoiler somewhere that she
actually ends up with her previous husband, the king who executed her. There are stories where MCs are trying to curry favor with their (alternate future/past) executor but somehow I just...

It's not like she doesn't have a better option for a husband (that red or green haired boys).

But what I also dislike, is the author who is (probably) trying to make the readers pity that prince male lead. From what I see, he's clearly jealous of her, and later when he knows MC won't defy him because she loves him, that jerk uses his position as both king and husband to humiliate and destroyed her. Damn inferiority complex.

She didn't really have to be the queen to have that. Maybe it'll be explained later. Also, is there anyone who's familiar with history here? Is this empress and queen something that used to be done or just something the author made up for conflict?

Cliché plot, but will bookmark because villainess stories are totally my shit. Thank you for the translation! But I guess the grammar can use some improvement 😊

and lmfao that panel where she turned around

i feel like things are not gonna go as she pleases i hope it doent end with emperor falling in love with her truly i hope this isnt as cliche as it seems

@shdill yeah i stoped watching it too i really dont like it when they make it like 'here are your options you may choose one just kidding' and i truly hate it when they fall in love with the guy that caused them missery a simelair plot that i dont hate is survivr as the hero's wife it was done in a nice way also the the reason i ended uo at the duke's house even thou he didnt murder her she was still murdered poor soul🤭

@SakuraShower Helping you with an answer by Rachel LeQuire from Quora :
"You aren't going to have a Queen and an Empress within the same power structure, since they are the same thing with different name."

Perhaps the author wants to imply that MC could only be "just a wife" or "a wife without equal standing to her spouse", because the emperor gave her a title lower than an empress.

I don't really excel in history, I've read quite a few, but the queen and empress thing in this comic is unheard of.

@Barbon What made me unsettled is the fact that Aristia (is that the abandoned empress' name?) is going through her second life, her own past, rather than transmigrated into the novel world like Canaria and Raeliana did. Aristia knows first hand how painful her past was and the cause of her suffering--that damn prince raped her, PUSHED her until she miscarriaged, executed her father then told her to beg mercy.

That's what the author presents to us in the beginning, and later the author expects the reader to take pity on him just because "the future hasn't happened yet, it can be changed" and he has a bitter past? If I could kick the author, I would!

@shdill you can have an empress and a queen in the same empire but the queen normally isnt married to the emperor. theyre are either a widow, married to the emperor's son / brothers / other relatives, visiting from another nation, or belong to one of the vassal nations. this does require the sons/brothers/relatives to be called kings instead of princes for it to work though.

some novels/manga have empires so large they are divided into kingdoms before duchies and ruled by family of the emperor or vassals. not much into history but you normally see this set up in eastern stories instead of western and i dont know of any real world example of it happening.

@Aran1 If it's queen of vassal kingdom, I could understand. I'm still so confused with how monarchy works, their titles, territory division... There were so many kingdoms and not all of them works the same, so I thought if I'm gonna make a story, I'm just gonna make my own system 😂

@Shdill :p explaining all of that is much longer then i want to get into since im a lazy f but generally western style nations will be king - prince - duke and eastern style nations will be emperor - prince - duke. i dont see the emperor - king - prince - duke set up that often and normally its only used to flex on the other nations how large that empire is. after i thought about it a bit the holy roman empire and byzantine empire probably used the emperor - king - prince and/or duke set up.

historically, i believe it was done due to how hard communication was after expanding beyond a certain point so it was easier to just grant them autonomy while also promising to help each other once bad things happened.

but if you dont wanna deal with that minor issue and your world has magic / cultivation you can solve it easily so your nations can be much larger then their real world counterparts. talismans, orbs, soul lanterns, some sort of mirror thing, and even texting have been used to chat across large areas.

the art is nice. i don't expect much from the story, though. i doubt there will be much depth to it. the prince seems hella shallow and the author will probably come up with some miracle as for why the prince is as shallow as he acts. i feel like the whole "getting along with the heroine" thing foreshadows that the heroine will be a white lotus bitch that tries to worsen our mc's image lol
